Reminders for the new academic year
Signing Learning Agreements
You must arrange for a student to complete and return their Learning Agreement within 10 working days of their application being approved.
Unconfirmed weeks
Please administer any ‘unconfirmed weeks’ within the Learning Centre Portal. This avoids any delayed payments to learners.
Removals (outstanding Learning Agreements)
You should remove any students not returning in academic year 2022/23. You should do this within 10 working days from the first full week at the start of term. If you've not done this yet, please remove these students now.
Backdated payments
Learners must apply before 30 September 2022 to get payments backdated to the start of the term. If they apply after this date, they may get payments backdated to the Monday after they return the application.
Service User Working Group
The Service User Working Group reviews the design and implementation of service interactions. This review is from a user perspective and includes expert opinions. The review also includes information about future policy, systems enhancement and reporting functions.
The next meeting is likely to be in November. We'll contact you if you took part previously. Please contact your Account Manager if you're interested in joining the group.
Adherence to Service Standards
- please check your learners’ information is correct before submitting your weekly attendance confirmations
- you must return a weekly attendance confirmation for every student. You must do this if they are 'in attendance' or 'not in attendance'
- you must make your weekly attendance confirmations on the Learning Centre Portal - this must be complete before 5pm on Wednesday for the previous week
We monitor your returns to ensure compliance with the service standards. Please make sure you submit confirmations of non-attendance and notifications of any removals in plenty of time.
Changes to residency rules for EMA students: Ukraine Schemes
The residency rules for EMA students have recently changed. Starting from 11 August 2022, students who have been granted leave to enter or remain under a Ukraine Scheme may be eligible for EMA support.
We've published an update to the EMA Application Form that includes eligibility information for students in this category. If you have any students who've applied before 26 August when the form was updated, please help them download and fill in the additional section. You should also give it to any students using the paper application pack.
Students who have not applied yet can download the full updated application pack and guidance from nidirect.
