Bulletin for September 2024

Home Office data sharing changes for non-UK nationals

We're making some changes with the way we share data with the Home Office.

From Monday 16 September, non-UK national students and their sponsors may not need to send physical evidence to support their application.

If any of your students are non-UK nationals and applying after Monday 16 September, please encourage them to download a new application form and guidance from the nidirect website. This will ensure they pick up the new changes and avoid any delays with their application.

To be eligible for backdated pay to the start of term, students must apply before 30 September 2024.

Service standard reminders

Key reminders:
  • Learning agreements should be signed by all new and returning students within 10 working days of an approved application.
  • Attendances should be confirmed every week before 5pm on a Wednesday for the previous week’s attendance.
Full details of the service standards and guidance documents can be found on the LC Services website.

If you've had a change in staff at your learning centre, please contact Steve Brown to arrange EMA training.

Learning agreement reminder texts

We'll be sending ‘sign your Learning Agreement‘ reminder text messages to students who have not yet signed a learning agreement. These messages will be sent on Wednesday 2 October 2024.

Learning Centre Services website

Please remember you can find all of our EMA guidance documents on the LC Services website

Take the time to familiarise yourself with the layout. Learning agreements and payment information guides for the academic year 2024/25 are also on the portal in the downloads section.

EMA support desk

Our support desk team is available to answer any day-to-day operational questions you have. This includes individual learners, application processing, payments and the Learning Centre Portal. You should only escalate these queries to account management in exceptional circumstances. As we approach our peak processing period, it's important you use all available resources. You can reach our support desk on 0300 200 7089 (select option 5) or by emailing emainfo@slc.co.uk.
