What is the EMA scheme?

The Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) provides financial support for students who remain in post-compulsory further education at a school or further education college in Northern Ireland. EMA is a means-tested, attendance-based weekly allowance, paid every 2 weeks. Participants may also receive bonuses if they stay on their course and make good progress with their learning.
