EMA/WGLG applications for academic year 2023/24

Please remind your learners that they can still apply for their EMA and WGLG FE funding for academic year 2023/24.

We'll backdate EMA payments to the start of the course as long as we receive the application within 13 weeks of the course start date.

For WGLG FE, new learners must apply within 9 months of starting their course, and returning learners must sign their agreement within 9 months of starting their course.

The EMA online service is available in English and Welsh for learners to apply here.

Learners can download the EMA and WGLG FE application forms and guidance from the Student Finance Wales website.

Application distribution for academic year 2024/25

We're beginning the ordering process for applications, but first we need to make sure we have your correct distribution details.

You can see the details we hold on the Maintain Profiles tab on the Learning Centre Portal. This is also where you can update them if they're incorrect.

Please check that your contact details are up to date by 8 December.

Learning Centre Portal opening early

We're opening the Learning Centre Portal early for entries for the week ending 22 December. This means you can submit attendances from 18 December so the allocations are in place before you break for the holidays.

Please make sure to mark the following weeks as holidays:

  • all weeks your Learning Centre is closed for holidays
  • all weeks your Learning Centre is only open for one day

This will automatically mark all learners as on holiday, ensuring the portal is up to date.

Please also make sure that you check the Unconfirmed weeks section of the portal to administer any outstanding student payments.

WGLG attendance confirmations

As we approach the last month of term 1, please make sure that you have confirmed all eligible WGLG students attendances for term 1 by 22 December.
