Learning Centre Portal opening early before Christmas
The Learning Centre Portal is open early for attendance confirmations for the week ending Friday 22 December. You can submit your confirmations from Monday 18 December so they're in place before the holiday period starts.
You must return a weekly attendance confirmation for every student whether they’re in attendance or not. Please make sure to update your portal information before you leave for the Christmas break.
Please also submit attendance confirmations for any earlier, unconfirmed weeks that may still be outstanding. You can do this by checking if there is an unconfirmed weeks box in the attendance worklist of your portal.
EMA/WGLG festive payment dates
So long as you submit attendance confirmations on time, EMA payments for the weeks ending 15 and 22 December will be paid on Tuesday 2 January rather than 1 January. We'll also make any WGLG term 1 payments that are due to be paid on 25 December on Wednesday 27 December instead.
Please let your students know about this.
WGLG applications for academic year 2023/24 are now available online!
The WGLG online application service for academic year 2023/24 is now available!
The online service is available in English and Welsh for students to apply here.
For help with their online application, students can contact us on our helpline number 0300 200 4050, Monday to Friday from 8am until 6pm. If your students would prefer a paper application form, even if they’ve started an application online, they can still ask you for this or download the application form and guidance from Student Finance Wales.
To help promote the online service we've also created posters you can display in areas where students can see them. These are available for you to download and print from the Learning Centre Services website.
EMA/WGLG FE support desk – festive hours
Our support desk team is available to answer any day to day operational questions about individual students, application processing, payments and system issues.
You can contact the support desk on 0300 200 4050 (option 6 for EMA queries, option 5 for WGLG FE) or email emainfo@slc.co.uk.
Over the festive period, their opening hours are:
- Friday 22 December to Tuesday 26 December – closed
- Wednesday 27 December to Thursday 28 December – open 9am to 5pm
- Friday 29 December to Tuesday 2 January – closed
The support desk will return to business as usual on Wednesday 3 January 2024.
